Make a spreadsheet of numerical
data on various planets - volume, density, diameter, miles from the sun,
etc. using this site's information and/or others. Make charts comparing
your data. You may want to make a pie chart and decorate it as a planet
- i.e. with rings for Saturn or storm spot for Jupiter.
Create a chart with the three
phases of the early space program - Mercury, Gemini, Apollo. Note the
objectives or goals of each, important missions, astronauts, significant
events, etc..
With batteries and bulbs,
cardboard, black paper, create a constellation. Attach a paragraph that
gives information about the constellation.
Write or make a display that
compares and contrasts several planets. Tell how they are alike and how
they are different.
Create a model of the solar
system in two or three dimensions. Try and make the distances between
the planets and their relative sizes as accurate as possible.
