USA Government

This website is designed to help you master different concepts about government. It also contains links and projects so that you can expand your knowledge of the workings of our government.

Government makes rules and provides services for its citizens. Since government is, "by the people, of the people, for the people," we are all part of government. This is why our government is called a democracy, which means power is shared by all the citizens.

Each citizen of the United States has certain freedoms. Along with these freedoms comes the responsibility of being a good citizen of our family, school, community, state and nation. One important responsibility of citizens is to be knowledgeable about the workings of our government and to be informed about the issues facing us. It is hoped that this site will help contribute to this knowledge and increase your awareness of how our government works and how you can be a part of it.

This site is dedicated to all the brave people who founded this great country and who fought to preserve our freedoms.

For those that use screen readers, there are red, white and blue letters at the top of each content page spelling out the title of the page. The link on the first letter goes to the beginning of the page content. The link on the second letter goes to the menu table at the bottom of the page.
