lists on the links part of the Congress page. Email them with your thoughts
on current legislation or laws about to be made. Be sure to read over how
to write to a Congress person and use good grammar and manners.
- Look over the bills that the
105th Congress has worked on and tell about it in 10 sentences.
- Pretend you are newsreporter
covering the Congress. Report today's Congressional action by using such links
as RollCall or the Washington Post.com for the latest news.
- Find out when the Congress
is on C-SPAN. Write a TV Guide listing of what happened when you watched it
- Think of an idea for a bill.
Write it out and get class mates to sign it. Write or email your Congress
person about your idea.
- Find out how your local congress
person voted on current bills. Be ready to share this information - verbally,
with a graph or report.
- Find out more about a congressman
or woman by visiting their webpage. Be ready to write or verbally report on
your findings.
- Find out about the different
committees in the Congress. Make a chart of what you learn.
- Make a chart showing the leadership
of Congress.
